Twenty years ago, some Sydney visionary cyclists, bushcare enthusiasts and community representatives laid claim to an abandoned freight-rail corridor with an eye to creating a haven for nature, cyclists and the community in general. Twenty years of determination in the face of setbacks finally sees Sydney’s Greenway project acquire funding. Environmental engineer Alexa McAuley is involved in the planning.
