The Australian Walking & Cycling Conference was first held in 2009 as The Australian Cycling Conference. Prior to 2009 a similar event was held each year.

Our first virtual conference, hosted in Newcastle from 1 to 2 October 2020, with the theme Active Transport in a Post-Covid World.

Copenhagen Masterclass
In 2015 the Australian Walking and Cycling Conference successfully convened a Copenhagen Masterclass for planners, in association with the Cycling Embassy of Denmark.

The conference was in not held due to Velo-city 2014 being held in Adelaide in May.
